Southern Takes Series At Alabama A&M

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • SU got off to a slow start, falling behind 3-1 after the first three innings. The Jags scored eight runs in the final four innings to take game one.
  • Jags used three pitchers to keep the Bulldogs off balance, picking up eight strikeouts on the day.
  • Huff pitched the final inning, seeing seven batters give up no runs and only one hit.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • SU got off to a fast start, scoring nine runs in the first five innings and never looked back, as they demolished Alabama A&M  11-2.
  • Jags finished the day with ten RBIs, led by junior outfielders Jacoby Radcliffe and Cardell Thibodeaux with four.
  • Ranard Grace pitched a complete game, seeing twenty-nine batters, giving up only two runs off seven hits and striking out six batters.  
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Southern finished the day with fourteen hits, and AAMU finished with only seven hits.
  • Southern finished the game with no errors, while Alabama A&M finished the game with two errors.
  • Southern left eleven runners on base, while AAMU left six.
  • Southern struck out seven times, and Alabama A&M struck out six times.
  •  KJ White picked up the Jags' first run of the day off a RBI single up the middle by Jaylon Lucky. Jacoby Radcliffe led the Jags with three runs on the day, while KJ White and Cardell Thibodeaux scored two runs each. Taj Bates, Jaylon Lucky, Jalon Mack, and Kameron Byrd recorded one run each.
  • Seven different Jaguars batters recorded a hit, led by Thibodeaux with four hits.
UP NEXT
The Jaguars will close out the regular season this weekend at Jackson State. Game one will be Thursday at 6 PM, game two on Friday at 3 PM, and game three on Saturday at 1 PM at Braddy Field.
