HOW IT HAPPENED

• Southern jumped out to a 9-0 lead over the Panthers after the five innings to cruise to a lopsided victory on the final day of the Cactus Jack Classic. 

• Southern went on to secure the victory by run ruling the Panthers in the eighth inning off a home run by Jacoby Radcliffe.

• Kiki Ford Jr. pitched the final two innings of the game sending three of the seven batters seen to the dugout by way of strike out

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Southern finished the day with ten hits and Prairie View finished with four hits.

• Southern committed only one error on the day.

• Southern left ten runners on base, while Prairie View left eight.

• Southern struck out ten times, while Prairie View struck out eight times.

• Beny Bikar and Cardell Thibodeaux picked up the Jags first runs of the day off a home run by Thibodeaux. Thibodeaux and Bikar finished the day with four runs each, while Jacoby Radcliffe finished with two runs on the day. Jalon Mack and Arrington Eason added one run each.

• Seven different Jaguars batters recorded a hit. Taj Bates, Radcliffe and Bikar led SU with two hits each.

UP NEXT
The Jaguars will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon as the travel across town to the Historic Alex Box Stadium to face the Tigers from Louisiana State University at 2 PM.
