HOW IT HAPPENED

• Southern jumped out and took a 5-3 lead over the Tigers after two innings and never looking back scoring runs in the fourth and sixth inning to pick up their first win of the 2025 season.

• Southern went scoreless the final two innings, but the Jags has already took care of business to secure the win.

• Genesis Prosper closed out the game by sending one of the Tigers final three batter to the dugout by strike out. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Southern finished the day with 14 hits and Texas Southern finished with six hits.

• Texas Southern committed one error.

• Southern left ten runners on base, while Texas Southern left six.

• Southern struck out four times, while Texas Southern struck out six times.

• Cardell Thibodeaux picked up the Jags first run of the season off Rashard Grace pop-fly to center field. Thibodeaux finished the day with four hits each, while Beny Bikar, Taj Bates and Jacoby Radcliffe finished with two hits each. Jalon Mack, Rashard Grace, Dylan Jones and KJ White all added one hits each on the day.

• Six different Jaguars batters recorded a run. Bikar and White led SU with two runs each.

UP NEXT
The Jaguars will be back in action on Saturday afternoon for day two of the Cactus Jack HBCU Classic as they take on Grambling State at 3 PM.
