BATON ROUGE, La. – Southern University volleyball returns to Seymour Gymnasium on Sunday, November 16, for its final regular-season match of the year as the Lady Jaguars host Alabama A&M in a pivotal Southwestern Athletic Conference showdown. With tournament seeding coming down to the wire, Southern aims to finish strong in front of its home crowd.
 
The Lady Jaguars (13-16, 8-7) continue to be fueled by standout setter Jordan Felix, who recently surpassed the 2,000 career assists milestone. Felix leads the league with 733 assists on the season and averages 7.19 assists per set. She has produced 21 matches with 20 or more assists—including nine with 30 or more—and remains the engine of Southern's offensive flow.
 
On the defensive end, libero Najah Harris anchors the back row with 393 digs, ranking among the conference's most reliable defenders. Her steady presence in serve receive and transition defense will be vital as Southern looks to control the pace against an Alabama A&M team known for long rallies and aggressive swings.
 
Middle blocker Sophie Diouf continues to shine at the net with 53 total blocks, giving the Jaguars a strong interior presence. Her ability to disrupt opposing hitters will be a key factor as Southern works to contain the Bulldogs' attack.
 
On the other side, Alabama A&M (18-10, 9-6) features several significant contributors. Rayishon Jackman has been a force offensively and defensively: she leads the team in kills with 342 and is second in digs, logging 271 so far this season. Veteran opposite Fatima Ramirez has added 270 kills and contributes defensively with 271 digs.
 
Their setter, Briana Smith, runs the Bulldog offense and has tallied 657 assists, making her the team's top distributor. Meanwhile, Kelani Talakai has anchored the back row with a team-leading 440 digs, giving A&M steady defensive coverage. Also important up front is Sana Dennis, who leads the squad in blocks with 70.0 total blocks, making her a key interior presence for Alabama A&M.
