GRAMBLING, La. — The Southern University women's volleyball team turned in its most impressive stretch of the season this past weekend, earning three consecutive road victories — straight-set wins over Alcorn State and Grambling State and a four-set triumph over Arkansas–Pine Bluff. The Jaguars (6–11, 3–2 SWAC) showcased balance, consistency, and poise across the three-match sweep to climb in the conference standings.
 
Friday, Oct. 3 – Southern 3, Alcorn State 0 (25–15, 25–16, 25–14)
Southern opened the weekend with a commanding performance in Lorman, sweeping Alcorn State behind an efficient offensive showing and steady defensive pressure.
 
The Jaguars hit .333 as a team while holding the Lady Braves to a .118 attack percentage. Ariana Brown paced the offense with 12 kills on a .480 hitting clip, and Jordan Felix directed the attack with 27 assists and seven digs. Zaria Nelson added 11 kills, providing another strong option at the net.
 
Defensively, Najah Harris anchored the back row with 11 digs, while Elise Doomes, Hanna Pereira, and Logan Hart combined for multiple key blocks that helped Southern control each set from start to finish.
 
Saturday, Oct. 5 – Southern 3, Arkansas–Pine Bluff 1 (18–25, 25–18, 25–16, 25–19)
The Jaguars carried their momentum into Pine Bluff, overcoming an early deficit to down the Golden Lions in four sets.
 
After dropping the opening frame, Southern surged back with dominant second and third sets, driven by a balanced attack and sharp adjustments in serve-receive. Sereniti Johnson led the offense with 12 kills on .500 hitting and added 17 digs for a double-double. Felix turned in another standout effort with 32 assists, 10 digs, and three service aces, while Brown chipped in 11 kills to give Southern three hitters in double figures.
 
Defensively, Harris posted a season-high 24 digs to stabilize the backcourt, and Doomes sparked key scoring runs from the service line, finishing with four aces. The Jaguars out-dug UAPB 65–60 and limited the Golden Lions to just .182 hitting over the final three sets.
 
Monday, Oct. 6 – Southern 3, Grambling State 0 (25–16, 25–19, 25–22)
Southern capped its road swing with a statement victory over in-state rival Grambling, completing the weekend sweep in straight sets.
 
Brown continued her dominant play, leading all scorers with 16 kills on a .400 hitting percentage. Felix once again steered the offense with 27 assists and added several timely digs, while Johnson contributed seven kills and 11 digs.
 
Southern's discipline on defense was the difference, holding Grambling to just .114 hitting while producing a .279 team attack percentage and 4.0 total blocks. The Jaguars maintained control in each set with consistent passing and composed play in late rallies.
