BATON ROUGE, La. – The Southern University volleyball team returns home for a midweek non-conference matchup against Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) on Tuesday, October 21, at 6 p.m. inside Seymour Gymnasium.
 
The Jaguars (8-12, 4-3 SWAC) enter the contest riding a strong stretch of play, having won five of their last six matches, including a four-set victory over Dillard University last week. Southern has found its rhythm behind an efficient offensive attack and improved defensive consistency as they continue to build momentum heading into the final weeks of the regular season.
 
Ariana Brown continues to fuel the Southern offense, averaging 3.46 kills per set while hitting .213 on the season. She also leads the team with 26 service aces, showcasing her all-around versatility. Jordan Felix runs the offense with precision, averaging 6.48 assists per set to rank among the SWAC leaders, while adding 1.86 digs per set on the defensive end.
 
Sophie Diouf provides another spark at the net with 1.31 kills per set and leads the team in blocks at 0.58 per set, helping control the middle. Bailee St. Romain, returning to full form after an early-season absence, has become a reliable contributor with 1.85 kills per set, adding depth and balance to Southern's attack.
 
On defense, Najah Harris anchors the back row with 3.68 digs per set, leading the team in total digs while also serving up 25 aces this season. As a unit, the Jaguars have raised their offensive efficiency to a .198 hitting percentage during their recent surge, while averaging 1.5 blocks and 2.55 aces per set—key areas that have fueled their success.
 
SUNO (10-8) enters Baton Rouge looking to bounce back from a two-match skid. The Lady Knights are led by Taszia Adkinson, who averages 2.23 kills per set and has surpassed 320 assists on the year, while Armoni Harris anchors the defense with a team-best 4.91 digs per set.
