This Week in Southern Athletics - September 2-8, 2024

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Southern University football, volleyball and soccer teams all face non-conference opponents at home during this week in Southern Athletics.

The SU football team (0-1) will face Savannah State for the home opener and 7^th annual Pete Richardson Classic. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. and will be televised on HBCUGO Sports.

The Southern soccer team (0-6) host two home games at A.W. Mumford Stadium when they face Louisiana Christian Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Troy on Sunday for a 1:00 p.m. contest.

The Southern volleyball team (0-3) faces McNeese State on Monday at 11:00 am in Seymour Gym. Then the Jaguars will travel for a three-match road swing this week, heading to Tallahassee to compete in the Florida A&M Invitational. Southern opens the tournament at FAMU Friday at 11:00 a.m. (CT), when they face Florida A&M. They will turnaround and play Jacksonville Friday at 3:30 p.m. (CT) and closes tournament play versus New Orleans Saturday at 10:00 a.m. (CT).
