Southern University Athletic Department Makes a Difference on Community Impact Day

On July 23, 2024, the Southern University Athletic Department exemplified its dedication to community service through its inaugural Community Impact Day. This initiative brought together members of our athletic staff who volunteered their time and efforts at the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, leaving a lasting mark on our local community.

Community Impact Day not only underscores our commitment to excellence in sports but also shines a spotlight on our core values of integrity, leadership, and service. As leaders in athletics, we understand the significance of giving back and supporting those in need within our community. By participating in initiatives like Community Impact Day, we not only bolster our community but also cultivate a sense of unity and empathy among our athletes, coaches, and staff.

The Food Bank plays a vital role in alleviating hunger and supporting families in need throughout Baton Rouge, and we are honored to have had the opportunity to support your mission.
