• The Jags gave up four runs in the top of the first inning before battling back to cut the lead in half 4-2. 

• Southern scored runs in the first four innings of the contest.

•  Grace picked up his fifth win of the season pitching five innings giving up seven runs off eleven hits. Davis picked up his second save of the season pitching 1.1 innings giving no hits or runs.
   

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Southern finished the day with thirteen hits and UAPB finished with fifteen hits.

• Both Southern and Arkansas Pine Bluff finished the night with two errors each.

• Southern left twelve runners on base, while UAPB left eleven.

• Southern finished the night with six strike outs, while UAPB finished with five.

• Tyeler Hawkins scored the Jaguars first run of the night off a single to right field by Jalon Mack.

• Eight different Jaguars batters recorded a hit on the night. Khyle Radcliffe and KJ White finished the day with three hits each, while Hawkins finished the night with two hits including a two-run homer. Kameron Byrd, Dominic Joseph, Ryan Ollison, Jacoby Radcliffe and Mack finished with one hit each.

The Jaguars will be back in action on Saturday afternoon against University of Arkansas Pine Bluff in game 2 of the weekend series. First pitch is slated at 3 PM live on Jaguar Sports Network.
