Southern Track has Nineteen top-15 finishes at the 2024 Bobcat Invitational

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Southern University men's and women's track and field recorded eleven top-10 finishes at the 2024 Bobcat Invitational hosted by Texas State. It was the second of two meets on the weekend in the state of Texas for the Jaguars.

Eight different athletes had personal best in their respective events. Southern had 19 top-15 finishes.

Things got started early with field events where Uzuri Graves (women's javelin throw) finished first overall.

Later that afternoon the running events got kicked off for the Jaguars Tashina Alase (women's 100m hurdles) finished third overall.

WOMEN'S TRACK EVENTS

Tashina Alase finished 3^rd with a personal best time of 13.65 (Women's 100m Hurdles)
Sierra Session finished 6^th with a personal best time of 1:01.52 (Women's 400m Hurdles)
Camille Lewis finished 8^th with a personal best time of 2:12.56 (Women's 800m)
Camille Lewis finished 9^th with a time of 1:01.84 (Women's 400m Hurdles)
Jada Chevalier finished 12^th 13.92 (Women's 100m Hurdles)

WOMEN'S FIELD EVENTS

Uzuri Graves finished 1^st overall, recorded her personal best in the (Women's Javelin Throw) with a throw of 40.51m
Camille Lewis finished 2^nd with a jump of 1.71m (Women's High Jump)
Jae'l Dunn finished 4^th 44.15m (Women's Discus Throw)
Peyton Funderburk finished 6^th with a jump of 5.96m (Women's Long Jump Sec. A)
A'ja Gore finished 10^th with a throw of 12.86m (Women's Shot Put)
Layla Spann-McDonald finished 11^th and recorded her personal best in the (Women's Hammer Throw) with a throw of 45.01m
Azariah Foster finished 11^th with a jump of 5.51m (Women's Long Jump Sec. B)
A'ja Gore finished 14^th with a throw of 44.50 (Women's Hammer Throw)

MEN'S TRACK EVENTS

Jordan Thompson finished in 9^th in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 14.28
Clydeterrious Thompson finished 10^th in the men's 200m with a time of 21.00
Marciano Taylor finished 14^th and set his personal best in the men's 800m with a time 1:53.02
Ta'Cardrick Alexander finished 16^th and set his personal best in the men's 800m with a time 1:53.11

MEN'S FIELD EVENTS

Reginald King finished 2^nd and recorded his personal best in the men's triple jump with a jump of 15.30m
Kevon Hamilton finished 4^th and recorded his season best in the men's triple jump with a jump of 15.16
Mehki Smith finished 6^th in the men's shotput with a throw of 14.53m

Southern will be back in action Friday and Saturday, April 5-6^th as they host the Pelican Relays on the campus of Southern University.
