PRAIRIE VIEW, TX -- Southern sweeps Prairie View on the season by knocking off the Panthers 75-68 in overtime on Saturday afternoon inside the William Nicks Building on the campus of Prairie View A&M University.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jaguars went 22-of-46 shooting from the field (47.8 percent) and 6-of-13 from 3PT (46.2 percent).
- SU was led by Aleighyah Fontenot (5-8 FG, 4-6 3PT) finished the day with 17 points, two assists and three rebounds.
- Taylor Williams (3-8 FG, 7-8 FT) chipped in 13 points, two rebounds and two steals in thirty-three minutes of play. Aniya Gourdine (3-7 FG, 5-6 FT) added 12 points and Tionna Lidge (4-5 FG, 3-5 FT) finished the night with eleven points for the Jaguars.
- Nine Jaguars played scored in the contest along with four in double-digits.
- PVAMU shot 22-of-55 from the field (40.0 percent) and 1-of-16 from 3PT (6.3 percent).
- Southern pulled down 28 rebounds, including 22 on the defensive side of the glass.
- The Panthers registered 31 rebounds, with 21 coming on the defensive end.
- The Jaguars also went 25-for-34 from the free-throw line.
- The Panthers sank 23-of-25 from the charity stripe.
- Southern University finished the night with six steals and eight assists. Chloe Fleming led the Jags with three assists on the night.
- Prairie View A&M University came away with nine steals and ten assists.

Southern will be back in action on Monday night as the take on Texas Southern. Game is slated for a 5:30 PM tipoff.
