Southern DefeatsAlabama A&M 2-1 On Senior Day

BATON ROUGE, LA – Southern University fell behind early in the contest, but came back to pick up their first conference win of the season by knocking off Alabama A&M on Senior Day inside A.W. Mumford Stadium. Final score was 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Jags and Trojans battled back-and-forth before scoring goals at the 38th and 73rd minute mark of the contest.
  • SU fell early but battled back to pick up their first conference win of the season.
  • Seniors Iyanla Bailey-Williams and Giftee Tor scored goals on senior day.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Southern University would have a 15-13 advantage on shots over the Bulldogs.
  • The Bulldogs finished with the advantage on shots on goal at 9-8
  • Southern would finish with eight saves.
