Volleyball Defeats MVSU in Straight Sets

BATON ROUGE, La – Southern University Volleyball defeated Mississippi Valley State in straight sets (25-18, 25-20, 25-16) during their SWAC matchup. This victory improves Southern's record to 7-16 overall and 4-4 in the SWAC, while Mississippi Valley drops to 3-14 and 2-7 in conference play.

Match Highlights:
  • Offensive Performance: SU offensive attack was led by Jordan Felix, who recorded 6 kills on 22 attempts, showcasing a powerful presence at the net.
  • Setting Up Success: Iyanah Taylor contributed significantly with 22 assists, efficiently directing the offense and setting up her teammates for scoring opportunities.
  • Balanced Attack: The Jaguars had multiple players contributing to the offense, including Tamara Chavez with 6 kills and Chanelle Smith adding 4 kills, maintaining pressure on the Mississippi Valley defense throughout the match.
