AUSTIN, TX – Southern traveled to Austin, Texas for the world famous Texas Relays and came away with multiple top 10 finishes and personal best.
Camille Lewis and
Sierra Session started the meet off for Southern with a bang, both finished by winning their heats with a new personal best. Lewis finished fifth overall with a time of 1:00.41 and Sessions finished with a time of 1:03.19.
Jordan Thompson did not quite get his personal best but was not far off in his fifth-place finish in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 52.89.
The team of
DeAnthony Nervis,
Jordan Thompson,
Derick Washington and
Clydeterrious Thompson started day two with a solid showing in the 4x100. Winning their heat, the group would go on to finish 12th overall with a time of 41.26.
Freshman
Daisa McKissic took to the track in the 100m hurdles and finished with an impressive time of 14.89.
Jordan Thompson would compete in his third event and finished in the top 10 for a second time. This time
Jordan Thompson would set a personal best for the second week in a row in the 110m hurdles to finish sixth with a time of 13.96.
Trinity Bolden finished with a time of 11.78 in the women's 100m. On the men's side.
Clydeterrious Thompson would finish with a personal best of 10.55. Nervis would finish with a time of 10.59 and
Derick Washington would set a new personal best of 10.83.

Shani Simon and Session would compete in the 4x400 and finish with a time of 3:50.55.
Ta'Cardrick Alexander, Nervis,
Nicholas Scott and
Jordan Thompson would compete on the men's side and finish with a time of 3:16.70.
