HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Southern jumped out to a 6-0 lead and never looked back closing the weekend with a victory.
  • AAMU scored five runs in the fifth inning but wasn't able to come back against the Jags. 
  • Fidanza pitched one inning seeing four batters and only giving up one hit.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Southern finished the night with thirteen hits and AAMU finished the night with seven hits.
  • Southern finished the game with only one error, while Alabama A&M finished the game with three errors.
  • Southern left nine runners on base, while AAMU left eight.
  • Southern struck out seven times, while Alabama A&M struck out seven times.
  • Hunter Tabb picked up the Jags first run of the day off a triple down the right field line from Quincy Smith II. Jaylen Armstrong, Rashard Grace and Jah'li Hendricks scored two runs for the Jaguars on the day, while Khyle Radcliffe, Smith II and Tabb scored one run each.
  • Six different Jaguars batters recorded a hit. Radcliffe and Grace led SU with three hits. Armstrong and Hendricks had with two hits each, whileTabb and Smith II finished the day with one run each.

The Jaguars will be back fir a midweek game and home opener against McNeese State University inside Lee Hines Stadium. First pitch is slated for 6 PM. The game will be streamed live on Jaguar Sports Network.
