HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alabama State scored one run in the top of the second off an RBI single to right field. Kameryn Adkins threw out a potential to keep the score 1-0.
- ASU would score four in the fourth and one in the fifth before Southern would be able to score two in the bottom half of the fifth to cut the lead to 6-2/
- ASU would add one in the sixth and two more in the seventh.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- ASU would outhit Southern,15-7.
- Southern would commit three errors, while Alabama State would commit one.
- ASU left nine runners on base compared to six by the Lady Jaguars.
- Southern drew one walk and struck out nine times.
- Alana Mark extended her hitting streak to three games with a double. Asia George went 2-for-4 to lead six Lady Jaguars with hits.
- ASU had six different batters collect multiple hits, led by Alex Preson going 4-for-4 with 4 RBIs and a home run.
