BATON ROUGE, LA -- The Jaguars offense got off to a fast start for the second week in a row, but wasn't able to keep up the intensity in the second half dropping their second game at home this season. Final score from A.W. Mumford Stadium was 26-19 on Saturday evening.

The Jaguars QB Harold Blood completed eleven of the nineteen passes thrown on Saturday along with a beautiful 72-yard pass down the right sideline to junior receiver Chandler Whitfield. Graduate running back Gary Quarles Jr. led the jaguars rushing attack with 89 yards off thirteen carries. Whitfield led the Jags in receiving with 88 yards off four catches and a score.

Senior punter Robens Beauplan averaged 42-yards a punt on the night and junior kicker Joshua Griffin averaged 55 yards a kickoff along with two touchbacks.

The Jaguars defense was led by graduate linebacker Jalen Campbell with 8 tackles along with two breakups. Demetri Morsell finished the night with six tackles and a pass breakup. Kriston Davis added five tackles and three pass breakups. Jordan Carter picked up his second interception of the season along with four solo tackles and a pass breakup.

The Jaguars will host Lincoln University from Oakland, California for Homecoming 2023. Kickoff is slated for 6 PM, live on Jaguars Sports Network with the voices of Jaguars Athletics, Chris Powers and Hall of Fame coach Pete Richardson.
