Lady Jaguars Split Series Against Louisiana Christian

BATON ROUGE, LA—The Southern University softball team split the series against Louisiana Christian University on Friday night at Lady Jaguar Field.

- Head Coach Brittney Williams get her first win as head coach of the Lady Jaguars.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
SU 5 – LCU 6
- The Wildcats scored runs in the second and third innings to take an early 3-0 lead. 
- Julia York scored the first run of the game for the Lady Jags on a flyout to right field by Cameron Andrews.
- Lauren Parks also scored in the third on a single from Alana Mark
- LCU put up two more runs in the fifth making the score 6-2.
- Kassidy Moore and Erin Ledesma both scored in sixth as Ledesma tripled to right center to get in scoring position.


SU 8 – LCU 6
- The Lady Jaguars opened an early 3-0 lead in the first.
- LCU managed to score in the third from a homerun hit to center field.
- SU bounced back with four scores of their own in the fourth making the score 6-3 after four innings. 
- The Wildcats managed to add three more runs during the fifth inning. 
- The Lady Jags added one more run in the sixth making the score 8-4.
- Despite a late rally by LCU, the Lady Jags were able to hold on to the lead to get their first win of the young season.

UP NEXT
Southern is set to travel to Jackson, Mississippi for games against Mississippi Valley and Jackson State on February 25th, first pitch will be at 3:30 p.m.
