Jaguars Fall To UAB 92-66

BIRMINGHAM, Al. | Terrell Williams Jr. led three Southern University men's basketball players in double figures with 12 points as the Jaguars dropped a 92-66 decision to University of Alabama Birmingham Sunday afternoon at Bartow Arena.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 
  • Southern shot 36.9 percent (24-of-65) from the field, 27.3 percent (6-of-22) from the 3-point line and 60.0 percent (12-of-20) from the free-throw line
  • Terrell Williams Jr. finished with 12 points and four rebounds
  • Bryson Etienne registered 10 points and five rebounds 
  • Kris Gardner scored 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting
  • Southern finished with 29 bench points, 28 points in the paint, 12 points off 17 Blazers Turnovers, nine second-chance points and seven fast break points 
  • UAB went 29-of-66 (43.9 percent) from the floor, 11-of-26 (42.3) from the 3-point line and 23-of-33 (69.7 percent) from the charity stripe
  • Jordan Walker, Ledarrius Brewer, Eric Gaines and Javian Davis all scored in double figures for the Blazers. Walker finished with a team-high 25 points
  • UAB finished with 39 bench points, 32 points in the paint, 21 second-chance points, 15 fast break points and 14 points off 15 SU Turnovers
UP NEXT 
Southern plays its final non-conference game of the season as they head to Hammond, Louisiana on Wednesday Dec. 21 at the University Center against Southeastern Louisiana University. Tip-off against the Lions is set for 7:00 p.m. central time and the game will be live on ESPN+.
