- Southern started slow, before finding their footing and extending their lead 26-10, off Kris Gardner layup in the first half.
- Soniyah Reed hits the Jags first three-pointer of the season to pull the Jags within 2 points, 7-5.
- Aleighyah Fontenot hits another three-ball to pull tge Jaguars with in points an the end of the first quarter, 15-10.
- The Hawkeyes were too much for the Jaguars as Iowa pulled away for a 43-15 halftime lead.
- Stifling defense in the second half kept the Jaguars to only 19 points, as Iowa was too much for the Jaguars, sealing the 87-34 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Jaguars went 12-of-57 shooting from the field (21.1 percent) and 6-of-17 from 3PT (35.3 percent).
- SU was led by Amani Mcwain (3-11 FG, 2-7 3PT) who finished with 8 points and three steals.
- Sirviva Legions (2-4 FG, 3-4 FT) finished the night with 7 points, two rebounds and two assist. Aleighyah Fontenot pitched in six points and two steals.
- Eight Jaguars scored in the contest
- Iowa shot 30-of-58 from the field (51.7 percent) and 11-of-36 from 3PT (30.6 percent). 
- Southern pulled down 22 rebounds, including 20 on the defensive side of the glass.
- Iowa registered 51 rebounds, with 44 coming on the defensive end. 
- The Jaguars also went 4-for-8 from the free-throw line.
- The Hawkeyes sank 16-of-19 from the charity stripe.
- Southern finished the night with six assist and 11 steals
- Iowa came away with seven steals
