BATON ROUGE, LA-- Southern University (1-2, 0-0) travel to Jackson, Mississippi to open Southwestern Athletic Conference play against Mississippi Valley State University (0-2, 0-0) inside Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium.
This will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2016 where SU shutout MVSU by a score of 55-0 in Baton Rouge, LA. The Jaguars hold a 38-9 advantage between the two teams dating back to 1967.

Ladarius Skelton was 14 for 21 passing with 207 yards and three touchdowns. Tight End Ethan Howard had three receptions for 54 yards and one touchdown against McNeese State.
