DALLAS, Texas - The Southern University Men's and Women's track and field team opened their outdoor season Saturday at the third annual Historical Black College University Jett Relay's in Dallas, Texas.
Both the Men and the Women's team won the meet out of 14 teams. The men won with a total of 100.5 points. The women won with a total of 146 points.
Nia Williams started the women off by getting first in 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.45.
Aniyah Stiles took first in the High Jump with a jump of 1.60 meters (5'3"). Stiles also got fourth in Long Jump with a jump of 5.01 meters (16'5.25").
Jazmine Young finished first in the Javelin with a throw of 35.29 meters (115'9"). Young is coming off a winning outdoor season as she took first at the 2019 Southwestern Conference Championship.
Anndrela Woods also received a first-place title in Long Jump with a jump of 5.36 meters (17'7").
Tessa Toney placed first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.81. Toney also took fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.76.
Sierra Session got second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.22.
Jordan Landry placed second in High Jump with a jump of 1.55 meters (5'1"). Landry also got 2nd in Triple Jump with a jump of 11.74 (38'6.25").
Da'On Acosta took third in Triple Jump with a jump of 11.73 meters (38'6").
Teuanna Perry took fourth in Triple Jump with a jump of 11.48 meters (37'8").
Alexandria McCoy got third in the shot put with a throw of 11.83 meters - (38'9.75").
Alexis Bender took third in the long jump with a jump of 5.02 meters (16'5.75"). Bender also got fifth in the 100-meters dash with a time of 12.38.
Daniel Harold took first in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.60. Harold also placed 5th in 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.68.
Ljean McKneely got second in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.06.
Terrell Chevalier placed fourth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.15.
Jordan Thompson took second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.14. Thompson also got fifth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.55.
Kirkland Hills placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.81.
Kirkland Hills got second in the men's Long Jump with a jump of 6.66 meters (21'10.25").
Donovan Jennings took fifth in the Long Jump with a jump of 6.04 meters (19'10.25").
Charvares Wilson placed second in the Discus with a throw of 14.52 meters 47'8").
Jeremy Bass got third in the Discus with a throw of 13.80 meters (45'3").
Keenan Villery placed fourth in the Discus with a throw of 12.66 meters (41'6").

The women's and men's teams will travel to McNeese State Saturday, March 14.
