Southern Drops a Close One to Alabama A&M 59-57

Huntsville, AL -- Southern splits the season series with Alabama A&M dropping a close game 59-57 Monday night at the Elmore Gymnasium.

Brittany Rose and Alyric Scott led all scorers with 13 points each. Scott finished with a game-high eight rebounds. Taneara Moore added nine points and five rebounds in 34 minutes of play. Caitlin Davis chipped in six points and finished with three assists. 

The Jaguars defense forced the Lady Bulldogs to 11 turnovers picking up nine points off the turnovers. SU played all nine players with all nine landing in the scoring column. Southern shot 41 percent for the game (20-49) and 36 percent from behind the arc (4-11). SU shot 62 percent from the charity stripe finishing (13-21).
