JACKSON, MS. -- The Lady Jaguars comeback falls short by three points 60-57 as the Lady Tigers of Jackson State defeated the Southern Lady Jaguars in conference play at the Williams Assembly Center Monday Night.
Senior guard
Jaden Towner led the Jaguars with 13 points and a team-high five rebounds. Senior
Brittany Rose added 11 points and tied Towner with five rebounds.
Caitlin Davis, Alyric Scott, and Genovea Johnson all finished the night with 10 points each. Scott and Johnson both had two assists along with Scott three steals.
During the course of the game there were seven lead changes and the game was tied six times. Jackson State largest lead was 16 points in the second half. The game seemed like it was going to be out of reach but the Lady Jaguars fought back to get in the game but SU comeback fell short.
The Jaguars defense forced the Lady Tigers to 15 turnovers picking up 12 points off the turnovers. SU played all twelve players with seven landing in the scoring column. Southern shot 34 percent for the game (20-59) and 44 percent from behind the arc (7-16). SU shot 50 percent from the charity stripe finishing (10-20).

The Lady Jaguars will host the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday, February 15th at 3 PM and encourage fans to wear Pink. Then on Monday, February 17th SU will host Mississippi Valley State University at 5:30 PM. Both games will be at the F. G. Clark Activity Center.
