Final Stats

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- Darnell Hugee scored 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting Monday night to lead Prairie View A&M to a 68-49 victory over Southern University.

Tim Meadows scored 13 for the Panthers (6-6, 1-0 SWAC), who never trailed in the game and led by as many as 26 points. Michael Webb scored 11 and Christopher Jones had 12 rebounds for Prairie View, which outrebounded Southern 50-36.

Jazz Williams finished with seven points and six rebounds, and junior Nick Walls finished with six points.

The Jaguars shot 24 percent (13-for-54) from the field in the game.

Southern will face the Tigers of Texas Southern University at 7;30 pm on Wednesday evening at the Health & Physicial Education Arena on the TSU campus.
