SU'S LOSING STREAK REACHES FIVE GAMES; JAGS FALL TO ALABAMA A&M BULLDOGS, 60-54

Southern University's losing streak continued Saturday night, as the Jaguars dropped their fifth straight and seven of its last nine games.

Alabama A&M's Evan Hilton scored a game-high 19 points in helping Alabama A&M to the a 60-54 win over SU.

Alabama A&M (9-14, 6-7 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led for nearly the whole game and went into the half ahead 38-24 after shooting 46.7 percent.

Southern (8-17, 6-8) shot 30 percent in the opening half on 6-of-20 shooting. The Jaguars were led by Jack Joseph with 14 points and Chris Davis followed with 13 while Joe Holliday added 11.

Mickell Gladness joined Hilton in double-digit scoring for the Bulldogs with 12 points.

With seven losses each heading into the game, the Bulldogs and Jaguars were two games from last place in the league.

Southern will now face SWAC leading Alabama State on Monday night in Montgomery, AL.
