Final Stats

DALLAS (AP) -- Joseph Comadelle hit a pair of free throws with about 15 seconds left Sunday to give Paul Quinn an 84-81 victory over Southern in the SMU Tip Off Classic.

Southern (1-1) had led 64-52 with 13:20 left before Paul Quinn (1-1) went on a 17-5 run to tie the game at 69-69 with 6:50 left. The teams traded the lead four times over the final 4:42 before Comadelle hit his free throws. He finished with nine points on the day.

Jazz Henderson led Paul Quinn with 23 points and six assists and Damien Chisholm scored 21. Cedric Brooks scored 14 and had 13 rebounds. Demontre Rutledge scored 11.

Barry Honore' led Southern with 21 points and Chris Davis added 14 and had eight assists. Joe Holliday and Joseph Jack each scored 11. Jack also had 11 rebounds.

Southern shot 50 percent from the field and Paul Quinn shot 37 percent.

Southern will return action on Friday evening, as the Jaguars face the Missouri Tigers at 7:35 pm in Columbia, MO.
