The Jaguars outrebounded the Bulldogs, 42-28, and SU shot 15 for 23 in the second half (65%), while outscoring Jarvis Christian 8-0 on fast break points.

In a game that saw the lead change 5 times, Southern took a minute, 26-24 lead into the locker room at the half. The Jaguars turned up the defense early in the second half, forcing Jarvis Christian into turnover that resulted in easy baskets for Southern. Chris Alexander scored seven points, Alvin Mott a bucket in the Jags run that extended the lead. Southern's largest lead of the game came at the 2:00 mark, when SU led by 16 points.

The Southern Jaguars return to action on the hardwood, when they travel to north Louisiana, to Ruston, to take on the LA Tech Bulldogs, Saturday, at 7:00 pm, at the Thomas Assembly Center on the campus of Louisiana Tech University. The game will be televised "Live" on ESPN Regional Networks and carried by Cox Sports TV, local cable channel 38.
