  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Former Lady Jaguar Kameryn Adkins enters her second season on the coaching staff at her alma mater, where she works primarily with Southern’s outfielders and base runners.

In her first season as an assistant coach, Adkins helped guide the Lady Jaguars to a historic campaign, setting a new program record with 37 wins and advancing to the SWAC Championship Game for the first time since 2009. Southern also finished the season with the second-highest RPI ever recorded by a SWAC softball program.

Adkins played a key role in the development of First Team All-SWAC standout Laila Clark, along with Asia George. Clark emerged as one of the premier defensive outfielders in the nation, recording 15 assists and nine 9–3 putouts, both among the highest totals by any outfielder nationally during the season. Collectively, Southern’s outfield unit was among the best in the country, committing just five errors in 281 total chances.

On the basepaths, the Lady Jaguars were equally dominant, finishing with 136 stolen bases, the third-most in the nation. George set the tone early, swiping 32 consecutive bases to open the season, ranking 10th nationally. Katiana Maldonado and Clark also ranked among the nation’s best, finishing with 27 steals (27th nationally) and 21 steals (58th nationally), respectively.

During her playing career, Adkins was a steady presence in the outfield, finishing with 45 putouts and four assists, showcasing the defensive consistency that now defines her coaching impact.
