Jeremiah Estes

Jeremiah “Jeri” Estes is entering his first year on the bluff as assistant volleyball coach. He is known as a world-renowned volleyball coach, trainer, and program architect whose career spans more than three decades across collegiate, professional, and international platforms. Known for his visionary leadership and strategic acumen, Jeri has built championship-winning programs and developed some of the most elite talent in the sport.
 
At the collegiate level, Jeri has coached at powerhouse programs including Long Beach State—where he helped guide the first undefeated NCAA National Championship team in history—UC Santa Barbara, East Carolina University, and currently, Southern University A&M. His high school coaching success includes leading St. Joseph High School to a CIF Division 3 title and earning Coach of the Year honors in 2016.
 
Internationally, Jeri’s résumé is unmatched. He has served with the USA Women’s National Team, including a 4th-place finish at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, and later with the Russian Women’s National and Olympic Teams, where he helped secure a Silver Medal at the Athens 2004 Olympics. He has also played pivotal roles with top professional clubs such as Volero Zurich, Dinamo Moscow, Azeryol Baku, and Uralochka-NTMK. With Uralochka, Jeri led the team to multiple Russian Super League championships, and with Volero Zurich, he helped orchestrate a 74-match winning streak and multiple Swiss league titles.
 
Jeri has coached and mentored over 40 Olympians, consistently uniting athletes from different nations and playing styles into cohesive, high-performing units. His coaching philosophy centers on adaptability, cultural fluency, and a deep understanding of the athlete’s journey—balancing individual growth with team excellence.
 
Beyond coaching, Jeri is a respected entrepreneur and program builder. He is the founder of The Volleyball Factory, co-founder of Mizuno Long Beach Volleyball Club, and owner of The MAP Sports Facility in Garden Grove, California—each established as pillars of elite training and youth development.
 
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University Long Beach in Criminal Justice and Correctional Counseling.
