Brock Bond joins Jaguar Baseball as an assistant coach, bringing a wealth of experience from
both his playing and coaching career. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Bond played collegiate
baseball at the University of Arkansas and the University of Missouri before being selected by
the San Francisco Giants in the 24th round of the 2007 MLB Draft.
Bond spent nine seasons in professional baseball, including four years at the Triple-A level.
Over the course of his career, he had stints with the San Francisco Giants, Baltimore Orioles,
Winnipeg Goldeyes, Los Angeles Angels, and Colorado Rockies organizations. His on-field
accolades include being named a Double-A All-Star in 2009 and a Triple-A All-Star in 2010. In
2013, he was honored with the Harry S. Jordan Award, given to the player in his first Major
League Spring Training who best exemplifies the Giants' spirit, as voted on by players and staff.
Following his playing career, Bond transitioned into coaching, working with hitters and infielders
at various collegiate programs, including San Jose State University, the University of
Missouri-St. Louis, and Quincy University (IL). Most recently, he served as a coach in the
prestigious Cape Cod League with the Orleans Firebirds.
Bond holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and has earned both an M.A.
and an M.S. from Maharishi International University. His extensive background in professional
baseball and player development makes him a valuable addition to the Southern University
Baseball coaching staff.
