Roxsanna Segura is entering her first season as an assistant coach for the Lady Jaguars.
 
Segura is from Laredo, Texas and is the daughter of Miguel and Claudia Segura and sister to Rebecca Segura and Miguel Segura Jr. Coach Segura committed to Trinity Valley Community College in 2017 where she played for two seasons. Here she earned a starting spot in the middle infield where she started 93 games and was named National Fast Pitch Coaches Association All-American Scholar-Athlete.
 
Segura then transferred to Southern University in 2019. For the 2019-2020 season Segura was named pre-season 2nd team short stop right before the season was cut short due to COVID-19. The next two seasons Segura started in the middle infield and at 3rd base for the Lady Jaguars where she saw her batting average increase each year. She finished her career starting 87 games, batting .247 and a slugging percentage of .325. In the field, she finished with a .907 fielding percentage on 289 chances. In the 2021 season she received preseason 1st team short stop and finished her last season in 2022 by earning the All-SWAC Tournament Team with a .500 batting average.
 
During Segura’s time as a student athlete, she received her Associates degree in Liberal Arts from Trinity Valley Community College, bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies and minor in business management from Southern University, and is currently in the MBA Program concentrated in Human Resources at Southern University.
 
Segura is committed to passing down her knowledge of the game to athletes and help them grow on and off the field.
