BATON ROUGE, La. — The Southern University softball team returns home for its final regular-season series, hosting Prairie View A&M in a three-game set at Lady Jaguar Field beginning April 24. The weekend also marks Senior Weekend for the Lady Jaguars.

Southern (29-13, 15-6 SWAC) enters the series with momentum after securing a series victory over Grambling. The Lady Jaguars claimed the first two games, 8-1 and 8-2, before dropping a narrow 2-1 decision in the finale.
 
Ariel Burton paced the offense, going 5-for-10 with a home run and seven RBIs across the series. The sophomore delivered a standout performance in the opener, finishing 3-for-4 with five RBIs, and followed with a two-run homer in game two. She enters the weekend riding an eight-game hitting streak.
 
Laila Clark and Asia George continue to provide consistency at the plate. Clark recorded four hits over the weekend, while George extended her hitting streak to 13 games with a hit in each contest. George also swiped five bases and remains one of just five players nationally to maintain a perfect stolen base percentage this season.
 
In the circle, Southern showcased its depth, posting a 1.75 ERA over the three games. Emma Rogers and Jordynn Jennings each contributed two scoreless innings in relief, combining to allow just two hits.
 
Aaliyah Zabala, Chakirrious Parker and Haley Hinds each earned starts during the series. Zabala set the tone in the opener, tossing 6.0 innings while allowing four hits and striking out seven. Hinds earned the win in game two with 4.0 solid innings, and Parker delivered a strong outing in the finale, going 6.0 innings and surrendering just three hits.
