The Lady Jaguars head into the matchup looking to sharpen their game before Southwestern Athletic Conference play begins this weekend. Southern rides a two-game winning streak into Tuesday's contests, highlighted by a 10-4 victory over Memphis last week.
Â
Against the Tigers, Southern's offense was electric, hitting .406 as a team with a home run and two doubles.
Laila Clark and
Prestaisha White powered the lineup, combining to go 7-for-8 with six RBIs.
Â
Clark delivered a flawless performance at the plate, finishing 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs while swiping three bases. The outfielder has also been a defensive standout, throwing out five runners at first base over the last seven games from her right field position.
Â
White continues to provide consistency both offensively and defensively at third base. The freshman went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored against Memphis and has been sharp in the field, turning four double plays over the past six outings.
Â
In the circle,
Jordynn Jennings provided a steady presence in relief, allowing just two hits across 4.0 innings while surrendering two runs and facing only 14 batters. Over her last six appearances, Jennings has limited opponents to just five earned runs.
Â
Kiera Miracle-Tilford and
Ava Wallace each added two hits in the Memphis win, including a double apiece, helping fuel Southern's balanced offensive attack.
