HOUSTON – The Southern University bowling team wrapped up play at the Track Kat Klash on Sunday, finishing 12th overall in a competitive field at Emerald Bowl.

The Jaguars continued a challenging early-season stretch that featured several nationally ranked opponents. Southern opened bracket play against the host and No. 8-ranked Sam Houston State, falling 910–798. The Jaguars then faced another top-10 foe in No. 7 North Carolina A&T, dropping the match 978–806 before closing out qualifying with an 822 against the bye.

In the placement round, Southern matched up with Texas Southern in a best-of-seven Baker series to determine the 11th and 12th place positions. The Tigers came away with a 4–0 win to secure 11th place, while the Jaguars finished 12th overall.

Despite the results, the weekend provided valuable experience for the young Southern squad against some of the top programs in the nation.
