Jaguars Open Season at Track Kat Klash
HOUSTON – The Southern University bowling team opened its 2025–26 campaign at the Track Kat Klash, hosted by Sam Houston State at Emerald Bowl, on Friday.
Facing a challenging field that featured several nationally ranked opponents, the Jaguars began the tournament against No. 19 Tulane, falling 828–757. Southern then took on another ranked opponent in No. 24 Oklahoma Christian, dropping an 874–780 decision.
The Jaguars closed out the opening day with matches against Prairie View A&M, Newman, and Texas Southern but were unable to secure a win. Southern narrowly missed out in a 757–752 setback to Prairie View before falling 1,007–890 to Newman and 827–756 to Texas Southern.
