BATON ROUGE, LA – Seniors Londyn Lau, Paytin Mercado and Raquel Latta will be honored throughout the weekend for their contributions to the Lady Jaguar softball team during the final three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference series at Lady Jaguar Field on April 28-29. Friday's game is scheduled for 5 p.m. and Saturday's doubleheader will start at noon.
 
Southern (13-31, 8-13 SWAC) is coming off a series loss to Alcorn and a midweek battle against Nicholls that resulted in a loss.
 
Prairie View (23-22, 10-11) won two games against Texas Southern in their previous series and lost to Texas A&M on Tuesday night.
 
Prairie View is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between the teams, sweeping Southern in their previous series this season.
 
Jaeslyn Frazier is hitting .308 with two doubles, two home runs and 11 RBIs on the season to lead Southern at the plate. Sydney Wesley is hitting .286 with three doubles and eight RBIs. Anabella Valadez has a .283 average with six doubles, three home runs and 13 RBIs. Alana Mark leads the team with 35 hits, six doubles, five home runs and 26 RBIs.
 
In the circle, Valadez leads the Lady Jaguars with a 5.52 ERA in 89.2 innings. Valadez has struck out 48 and walked 30. Latta is 6-6 on the year with a 6.34 ERA in 82.1 innings of work while striking out 35 and walking 11. Kairah Williams has 31 strikeouts in 65.1 innings. Chakirrious Parker has a 5.53 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 36 innings.
 
Prairie View is led by Biviana Figueroa with a .330 average, seven doubles, three home runs and 19 RBIs. Mia Nunez is second with a .306 average and a team high of 10 doubles, seven home runs and 22 RBIs. Audrey Garcia is hitting .293 with six doubles and 16 RBIs.
 
Jerrica Rojas is 7-2 on the season with a 3.5 ERA with 41 strikeouts and 33 walks in 64.1 innings. Cailin Massey is 9-5 with a 3.84 ERA in 98.1 innings 63 strikeouts and 23 walks.
