PINE BLUFF, AR – Southern (5-21, 2-4) looks to get back into the win column as they travel to the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff (5-22, 1-5) for a three-game series on March 26-27.
 
The teams will have a doubleheader on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. The series finale will begin on Monday at 11 a.m.
 
Southern is coming off a loss to Jackson State in a nonconference midweek game 6-1. The Lady Jaguars did take two of three from Alcorn in the SWAC series on March 18-19.
 
Arkansas – Pine Bluff is on a four game losing streak after falling to Memphis 6-1 on March 22. The Lady Lions got swept by Grambling in their previous conference outing.
 
Southern won five of the six meetings between the two teams last year. The Lady Jaguars are 8-2 in the previous 10 meetings.
 
Southern is led at the plate by Sydney Wesley with a .300 batting average. Wesley has hit a double, a triple and has three RBI on the year. Alana Mark is second on the team with a .269 average and leads the team with three doubles, three home runs and 16 RBI. Asia George is hitting .254 on the year.
 
In the circle, Anabella Valadez leads the Lady Jaguars with a 6.79 ERA in 55.2 innings. Valadez has struck out 27 and walked 20. Kairah Williams has also seen a majority of the innings in the circle. Williams is 2-6 with 26 strikeouts and 28 walks in 50.2 innings. Raquel Latta is 1-3 with 11 strikeouts and five walks in 28 innings.
 
Pine Bluff is lead by Justice Walton with a .300 average and a triple. Samaria Jackson is hitting .291 and Jazlyn Gomez is hitting .273 to lead the Lady Lions.
 
Sydney Green is 3-6 on the year with a 5.83 ERA. Green has struck out 48 and walked 44 in 54 innings of work. LeeAnn Raney has struck out 30 while walking 25 in 48.1 innings. Danika Bryant is 1-7 with 38 strikeouts and 51 walks in 29.2 innings.
