Baton Rouge, LA—The Lady Jaguar's softball team opened the three-game series against Grambling State with two wins in double-header action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SU 7 – GSU 6
- After no runs scored by either team in the first and second innings,
Kassidy Moore hit a homerun to left center to get the game's first run.
- Grambling scored a run in the top of the second but the Lady Jaguars answered back with another home run by catcher
Alana Mark.
Alissa Castaneda scored in the fourth as well on a sacrifice bunt by
Raquel Latta.
- The Lady Tigers scored three runs in the fifth making the score 6-3 in their favor.

Mariyah Sandoval hit the teams third homerun of the day to open the bottom of the sixth inning making the score 6-4. Castaneda scored her second tun of the game off another ground out by Latta.
- In the bottom of the seventh inning
Lauren Parks scored on a ground out by Sandoval to force the game into extra innings.
-With no runs being scored during the eighth and ninth innings, a single by
Kassidy Moore brought in a run by
Kalea Brown to give the Lady Jaguars the win.
- The Lady Jaguars had 35 plate appearances with 11 hits and nine left on base.

Lauren Parks scored the game's first run in the first as she stole home base.
- Grambling scored a run in the top of the second tying the score at one a piece.

Alana Mark homered to right field scoring a run of her own and bringing in
Lauren Parks to give the Lady Jaguars the lead 3-1.
- The Lady Jaguars had 23 plate appearances with five hits and five left on base.
