Griffin and Teasett named SWAC Players of the Week for Week Two

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed, Southern's Joshua Griffin and Czavian Teasett for SWAC Football Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of regular season competition.

Redshirt Freshman quarterback Czavian Teasett came into the game midway through the second quarter on Saturday and accounted for three touchdowns in the 42-10 victory over Savannah State in the Pete Richardson Classic. He threw for a career-high 316 yards, while connecting with eight different receivers during the game earning him SWAC Co-Newcomer of the week.

He was 17-of-29 passing for 316 yards with touchdown tosses of 38 yards to Chandler Whitfield, 33 yards to Darren Morris and 31 yards to Dupree Fuller. He amassed 326 yards of offense in less than a half for the Jaguars.

Senior Joshua Griffin connected for three field goals during Southern's 42-10 win over Savannah State earning him SWAC Specialist of the week. He was successful on field goal attempts of 38, 44 and 49 yards along with three extra-point attempts during the contest.
